#306 - Einstein's Wish, Social Identity and Crossing the Functional Divide on Project Teams
Description:
In the domain of science, Einstein understood that collaborating with those outside of your discipline was both highly valuable and extremely difficulty to do. He urged that we understand more about how to effectively collaborate across disciplines. Cross-functional project teams face the same challenges when team members must collaborate across functional divides. We will share recent research that provides insight into how successful cross-functional project teams use social identity to collaborate across that functional divide.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: (1) discuss how social identity supports effective communication across disciplines;(2) describe practical approaches to applying this knowledge on a cross-functional team.
