Despite its exponential growth in the software industry, the application of agile project management continues to be questioned in other areas of application, especially in megaprojects, including, but not limited to: construction, oil and gas, and infrastructure. This session explores how agile can benefit megaprojects, what aspects are applicable to megaprojects, in which phases, and why and how practitioners should look at blending agile project management into their otherwise waterfall projects.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: (1) discuss how agile project management can help resolve challenges that are common to large, capital projects;(2) describe best practices in merging agile with waterfall project management to create a hybrid model that works for capital projects.
